Continue from May 06......


This is a important decision that i make n did.........

B4 i went for my Taiwan trip on 8th May,I went for my pre-employment checkup at staff clinic in SGH.
( Just to let those who I seldom contact, i will become a Staff Nurse in SGH soon.)

The doctor did a full body checkup for me.
She find out that there is a huge hard mass over at my right lower abdominal.
Thus she refer me to O & G dept so that she can complete the medical checkup.
(Actually if u really feel my stomach that time,that area really very hard.)

After i come back from Taiwan,I went to O & G dept for checkup on 23th May 06.
I went for blood test, pap smear.Then i was ask to come back on 26th May for ultrasound.
So that i can discuss with Dr Tan.
(heehee.... Pap Smear that i did is itchy lo.... Not pain..... But have to depend on different situation.I mean see what is the person who did it for u lo.....)

On 26 May, during the ultrasound,the radiographer dun dare to tell me the condition that she saw. She only say "I will let the doc to explain to u."
So once the Dr Tan saw me, She told me i had not only 1 but 2 ovarian cysts. 1 is 15cm(length), another 1 is 10cm(length).
She also dun know what is it.As she can't do anymore test other than blood test to check it out.
Thus surgery is the only option left for me and the surgery have to do within the 2 week.
As she worried because the cysts r big thus higher chance to be cancerous so have to do it asap.
So actually the surgery is on 6th Jun 06 which is my 21 birthday.
Of cos i dun wan la..... I wan to enjoy my birthday 1st....
So postpone to 13th Jun 06.
(I find it very suay as 21th birthday n somemore 060606 then operation look like unlucky so i dun wan that day.)
I have to admit to SGH on 12th Jun to confirm my condition for my surgery.

12 Jun 06:

My dad and Johnny accompany me to go SGH at 2pm.
That time i was admitted to Ward 53A,Room 11,Bed 3, 4 bedded room.
Meanwhile,there r two Dr come to visit.
One is HO Dr to draw blood for test.
Another one is my Anaesthetic Dr Melvin. Make sure i not allergy to any drugs.
After that,Belle came to visit me at evening time.
haha,i remember that night,3 of us(me,Johnny n belle) ate one set of hosp meal together.
As that time,i had drank something to clear my bowel.Then no appetite to eat liao.
So we ate together....
Haha.....

On 10pm that night,Belle n Johnny had to left the hosp liao.
Hai.... 1st time stay in hosp, i scare lo.T
hen can't drink n eat after midnight.
So i can't sleep properly,slept at 1am.



13th Jun 06: Wow...... 6am,I had to wake up liao....
The nurse will wake all the patient up.
Hai.... More nervous..... my operation schedule on 11am.
So i went for a gd bath at 7am(as i know i can't bath for a few days).

on 9.30am,i was told i had to prepare for surgery liao.
I changed to the OT gown with socking(for prevent deep vein thrombosis).
I reach the OT theatre at 9.45am.


Same routine: Have to check my name,NRIC, my signature on the consent forms n etc.....
At that time,i quite nervous.
As i dun know what will happen inside the theatre.
So after i was transfer into the OT theatre,the enrolled nurse need the same routine.
Then i was push to L6 theatre at induction room(also known as Anaesthetic Room)
(L6 mean Left side of the whole theatre n 6 is the 6th theatre.)
I had to wait 1st.As the previous sugery is delay. I
nside the induction room,Very cold.I remember i shivering....
Then Dr Melvin came over to set plug for me.
(Maybe because he put local anaesthesia 1st,so when he set it,not that pain lo.)



At 11.30am,i was push into the theatre to prepare myself liao.
So after transfer to the operation table.
Dr Melvin put a mask on my face n told me to open my eyes so that he will know whether i fell asleep.
B4 that,I told him whether can be gentle as i dun wan to wake up with sore throat.
(as i will be intubated with a 7.5cm(width) about 30cm(length) tube thought my mouth to give me adequate oxygen.)
His ans was he will try not to let all his pt to get sore throat after sugery.
I only remember i breathe in about 3 times of the oxygen then i fall asleep liao.
(I would like to thanx Dr Melvin to keep his promise.I really dun have sore throat after the surgery).

At 3pm,I woke up n realise i was in the recovery room liao.
Seeing a pack of blood was infused through my plug.
Then i ask the nurse what time the operation finish n how long i slept.
She say," the operation finish at 1.50pm.U slept until now."
So the operation took extra hr as Dr Tan told me is took only 1 hr. (11.30pm to 1.50pm)
Then suppose after the surgery,they had to wake me up.But i didn't wake up at all.
(Maybe i do have reaction but i dun remember)



At 3.30pm,i was push out of the OT liao.I
had to be stable b4 i go back to the ward.
That y i stay in recovery for one hr plus.To observe for any complications.
I was given a mophine pump as to control my pain.
(i mean all my vital sign like blood pressure,pluse rate, oxygen level n etc had to be stable)



4pm,I reach the ward.Back to my bed. I quite awake.
The ward Dr came to see me for post operation conditions.
They told me during the operation,only the cysts were removed n went for forzen section.
The result was non-cancerous.(have to thanx God liao)
So after the student nurse took my vital signs,i fall asleep agian.
Normal lo.... The drug haven't go off.



6pm,Mabel came to visit me.Woke up by her. Still a bit dizzy and pain.
I only remember a bit what she say.
7pm,Johnny came to visit me. Follow by my parents.
My dad walk up to me,feel my forhead whether got fever anot.(that's the way my dad will concern.)
My mum said have more rest.
Mabel went off at 7.30pm as the next day,she working morning shift.
So B4 my parents go off,my mum feel my forhead to make sure no fever lo.
As Johnny was around,so my parent let him accompany me. Only a while,they go home liao.
Then Johnny told me that actually my parent do care me.
Only the way they express might be different.
(I know they do care, if not they won't visit me liao.)
My sister,Angie came at 9plus to visit me.Just stay awhile.Brought a box of essence of fish.
Johnny left at 11pm.
That night,i slept as i still very tired pain. So i used a lot of morphine too.





14th Jun,6am i wake up. I can't eat n bath. So i lie on my bed resting.
10 plus: Ms Lai,my poly lecturer came to visit me.She bought a basket of fruits for me.

12.15pm: Lina,Hui Xian,Siti n Siew Hoon came to visit me.
They brought a present for me.A sleepy lamb,know how to snooze.Thanx....

They came on 13 jun to visit me but i went for the operation liao.
So they left the present on my bedside. At 12.45pm,they left so they having orientetion.

2pm:Johnny came.He took another Off day to accompany me.(Thanx darling)
3.15pm: The Director of Nusing,Ms Chiang with a Nurse Manger came to visit.
Ask me about my condition n when i wan to start work.Then give her the ans b4 i discharge.
Suddenly i felt so many staff knew i admitted.A bit pai seh.
Evening time,Fiona,Genevieve,Jonathan and Belle came to visit me.Follow by my parents.
That night,Johnny left at 11.30pm.
I can't slep well due to pain.
But i use too much morphine the previous nite.
So the nurse advised me not to use it unless very very pain.
So that the next day i can get out of the bed liao.





15 Jun: Haha.... happy day.6am wake up.
But 7.30am,the ward Dr say off everything for me.That include the morhpine pump,urinary cathether and IV drip...... Then i can eat proper meal liao.
But dun really have appetite to eat lo.
Today,belle came at 12 plus.Then my dad came to collect the flusk so that he can bring it with soup in the evening.
3 plus,Johnny came.
4plus: One Nurse Manager come with a basket of fruits n biscuits.
She say is a small token from the Director of Nursing n Nurse Manager.(Thanx for the concern.)
5 plus,Johnny had to rush back to work.
Then Belle accompany me lo....
Evening time,Dawn n her bf came n brougth essense chicken for me.
Then My parent came with my Uncle Wah n his family,then my dad say Belle can stay here so long ,very gd lo.
Wow..... lots of pple at that time..... Then Dawn n her bf left for their dinner at 7+.
My parents n relatives left at 8+.
Then Belle continue to watch tv with me until 10.30pm.
Johnny came back at 10.45pm to visit me.
Left at 11.30pm. He scared i can't sleep lo.






16 jun: A day that i hope i can discharge.
Wake up at the same time. Today finally can bath..... :)
8am:Ward Dr say i can discharge.
then i happily tell my dad n Johnny.
And i able to eat finish my meal liao.
But 11am,Dr Tan came n said stay one more day.She said tml i will see u again.
So in the end,i can't go home. Hai.... Had to inform my dad n Johnny lo.
Then i realised Johnny actually took half day to accompany me.
So luckily i haven't discharge lo.
He came at 3pm. Stay until 11.15pm.



I still look very pale at that time.

My parents came at 7+ then left at 8+.
This night,i feel very uncomfortable.
I might have asthma attack.
I inform the Staff Nurse. Dr came at 2am to see me.
Then give me Ventolin.
After that then i can sleep,feel much better.





17 Jun: A day that finally i can discharge
Bath liao.
8am:Dr Tan made her rounds then she came to me n say i can discharge.
Wow damn Happy.
After eating my breakfast,I went for a nap.
11.30pm: i wake up,walk to the nurse counter to confirm my discharge.
Then i went to change to my home clothes.
12noon,my dad came.
Still early to go over to fetch my mum,so i stay back to finish my lunch.
12.40pm:I left the ward with my dad.
Thanx all the Sister and staff over in Ward 53A. They r really caring to me.....
